Neon & Glow in the Dark Mural Art | Illumination Wall Art

Hello, it’s Dan Walls from Illumination Wall Art again. In this blog, I’m going to be talking about the more exciting paints I use and how I achieve such striking murals using the great products in my arsenal.

Being largely mixed media, it’s often misconstrued that I am just a graffiti artist, and therefore I solely stick to the tried and tested spray paint can. Although it is fascinating to play around with aerosols, this is only half true.

The walls are almost alive with colour. Many of the pieces have children in mind and follow a loose botanical nature theme that act as a background for lots of cartoons like Pokemon and cartoon bees. However, toward the middle of the alleyway you can see some big graffiti pieces. These feature a good mix of styles from the several vastly different artists. That just works with the ramshackle wall textures and the efforts of the young kids who were desperate to help.

What is Mural Art? | Illumination Wall Art

A mural is simply a piece of art that is painted directly on a wall in either a public or private space. There are no restrictions when it comes to the media of mural art. The types of media types used are paint, spray paint, airbrush paint amongst many other media too. With murals on walls, usually, the artist incorporates elements of the structures of the surfaces they’re painting. For example, if the wall features a window, the artist will usually find a way of making this element seamlessly integrated with the mural itself.
